Alei Siach: Going Global

During a planned 10-day visit to Buenos Aires, the Alei Siach delegation will participate in a series of professional and community meetings with Jewish community leaders, educators, social workers, care professionals, and families of children and adults with disabilities, alongside collaboration with AMIA.

As part of the visit, the delegation will lead professional training sessions for local teams, hold personal consultations with families, and conduct workshops focused on independent living, employment, dating, social integration, and the development of community support systems tailored to the unique needs of the local Jewish community.

One of the primary goals of the mission is to provide Jewish communities in Argentina with practical tools to help build a model that enables people with disabilities to live with the greatest possible independence, personal choice, dignity, and full participation in community life.

“We’re not just talking about providing care,” said Rabbi Chaim Perkal, Chairman and CEO of Alei Siach. “We’re talking about creating enriched lives of independence, dignity, and genuine community belonging.”

Rabbi Perkal added, “For more than 30 years, Alei Siach has helped develop significant professional expertise in Israel in the fields of inclusion and independent living for people with disabilities. Today, there is a genuine desire among Jewish communities in Argentina to learn how these successful models can be adapted to their own communities. We are honored to expand our efforts through this important mission, enabling every Jewish individual to live with choice, independence, and confidence in their own abilities within a supportive and inclusive community, even beyond Israel.”

For more than three decades, Alei Siach has been recognized as one of Israel’s leading organizations serving people with disabilities in the religious and ultra-Orthodox communities. The organization operates a broad range of housing, employment, vocational training, and community programs, all founded on the belief that every individual deserves a life of dignity, independence, opportunity, and a true sense of belonging.

Jewish social welfare professionals throughout South America have expressed significant interest in learning from the Israeli model, which is widely recognized as more advanced and developed, offering innovative approaches to inclusion, support services, and independent living for people with disabilities. This visit is designed to explore how the knowledge and experience developed in Israel can be effectively adapted to meet the needs of local communities.

According to those involved in the initiative, this is an unprecedented effort in both its scope and purpose, one of the first times a professional Israeli delegation has traveled abroad specifically to provide Jewish communities with practical knowledge, training, and professional tools to strengthen inclusion, acceptance, and independence for people with disabilities.
