Senior officials from Israel’s Ministry of Welfare & Social Affairs participated in a special visit to Alei Siach’s Jerusalem day centers, experiencing a close look at the organization’s extensive and professional services for people with disabilities. The visit reflected the long-standing partnership between the Ministry and Alei Siach.
Participants included Rakefet Ben Guy, Deputy Director General and Head of the Disabilities Administration; Danny Katz, Senior Director of Community Services in the Disabilities Administration; Roey Gideon, Community Supervisor in the Department for the Care of Persons with Disabilities; and additional senior representatives from the Israeli Ministry of Welfare and the Jerusalem Municipality’s Welfare Department.
Throughout the visit, the government officials demonstrated deep interest and attentive engagement, underscoring their ongoing guidance, support, and partnership across all areas of Alei Siach’s activities.
The tour began at the Ha’Ofeh Street day center, a large and impressive facility for 150 girls. The guests were very taken by the professional programming, personalized schedules for each individual, and the advanced facilities, including a fitness center equipped specifically for individuals with disabilities.
The delegation then continued to the Weiss Center, Alei Siach’s boys’ day facility, which spans about 1,000 square meters. During the visit, the guests were introduced to Alei Siach department directors and regional division heads, who presented their areas of responsibility and daily operations, ongoing professional supervision, and close collaboration with the Ministry of Welfare.
Rabbi Chaim Perkal, Chairman and Executive Director of Alei Siach, led the tour and expressed appreciation to the Ministry officials for their years of guidance, support, and partnership. In his remarks, he emphasized that the collaboration with the Ministry enables Alei Siach to provide continuous, high-quality, and professional care to those it serves. He described the relationship as a true partnership in action, marked by attentiveness, responsiveness, and shared commitment at every stage.
